BIOSCIENCES: HIGH-SCHOOL OUTREACH EVENTS 2015-16 AT BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH FOUNDATION ACADEMY OF ATHENS

 

The high-school outreach events at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens for 2015-16 were organized in the context of the European Commission FP7-NEURINOX program, by the partners University of Athens (UOA) and Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens (BRFAA), with the invaluable contribution of more than 45 scientists and educators. Organized and coordinated by Despina Sanoudou, PhD FACMG Clbiol, faculty at Medical School of University of Athens and Affiliated Investigator at BRFAA. 
Event design and pedagogical supervision by Themis Gkion, Flow Athens.

Inspiring learning experiences for 600 high-school students and more than 65 teachers, from 25 schools from Athens, Pireaus, Chalkida, Lamia, Thiva and Edessa, including a school for hearing-impaired. Watch the video.

Flow Athens was responsible for the design and pedagogical supervision of the school outreach events for 2015-16 at the Biomedical Research Foundation, Academy of Athens, supporting the following goals for the students:

-- to get inspired

-- to experience how innovative research is conducted

-- to interact with the researchers

-- to discover new career prospects and to broaden their perspective

-- to trigger their creative curiosity.
