TECHNOLOGY SUMMER SCHOOL FOR YOUTH – BRITISH COUNCIL
Designed and facilitated a dynamic experiential learning two-week program for youth 13-19Y, in collaboration with the British Council, Athens.
Youth participants worked in small groups and faced a wide variety of challenges, DIY projects and learning games.
They explored a trail of learning experiences, which triggers creative ways of thinking in problem solving and decision making; which trains critical thinking as well as effective communication and collaboration; which cultivates the capacity to utilize their knowledge, competencies and talents as versatile tools adaptable to different environments and innovative applications.
We encouraged the youth participants:
to learn how to utilize their
to learn by exploring, tinkering, making and sharing
to approach tech tools with an inquisitive mind
to improvise and experiment iteratively
to think and act as technology makers and co-creators, not just consumers and beta-testers
to drive their own learning based on their interests
to ask interesting questions
to analyze, decompose systems
to redesign their own systems and user interfaces
to combine tools, ways of thinking and methodologies across disciplines in unconventional ways
to collaborate and communicate effectively
to create installations connecting the digital and physical world with practical tools
to perceive games as systems of shared rules for all players
to design games
to tinker with systems' rules and structural components

to develop creative confidence
to innovate, by applying their creativity and imagination.
