EDUCATORS’ TRAINING FOR REFUGEE SCHOOLS

We trained 25 educators who will work at schools with refugee youth, coordinated by Elix.

Themis Gkion from Flow Athens and Gani Naylor – certified PYE facilitators – co-led the ‘Creative Facilitation I’ (CF1) training for Elix, 30 & 31 January 2017, at the ‘Higgs’ NGO Incubator in Athens.

CF1 is a 16-hour experiential learning programme by ‘Partners for Youth Empowerment’ for informal education practitioners, aiming:

  • To explore their relationship to their creativity

  • To learn ways to build a safe learning environment

  • To learn arts-based activities that enliven learning and build group trust

  • To explore ways to weave a variety of art forms into a programme.

We asked the participants’ feedback at the end of the training:

100% of the participants reported they were ‘completely satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with the training

100% of the participants reported that the training taught them things that will be ‘completely useful’ or ‘a good amount useful’ in their work with youth or groups
