DESIGN THINKING COURSE AT VAKALO ART & DESIGN COLLEGE

We have introduced and are facilitating the Design Thinking Course, offered to all sophomore students at Vakalo Art & Design College, pursuing a BA in Graphic Design, Interior Design and Digital Design.

The course aims to cultivate a human centered design approach in problem solving and an iterative solution development process; a structured way to craft a certain “experience” to the end user, whether it involves a digital app, a service or a physical product.

The course explores the meaning of user experience (UX). The designers learn how to step in the end user’s shoes and think like a user. They realize the user’s needs in order to develop targeted solutions to address those needs. The course journey begins with fostering necessary life skills such as self-awareness, personal perception and active listening.

The students’ competence in developing products, experiences and services tailored to their end users is a cornerstone to becoming designers with impact.
